A comment I just left on this blog here:
I can't get hype about this day like some people, and my theory is that that's because I'm so pragmatic. It's silly to think Obama can fix everything, and it's especially silly to put so much on today when today is really only the beginning. And I too wasn't alive for any of the civil rights movement, so that angle is all bust lost on me as a reason to be hype. I'm happy about today, but it'll take great things in the future to make me hype. I just can't get excited yet, this is way too early IMO

I think today is a special day, a BLACK man is the freakin' president! Of course he won't be able to fix everything and whoever thinks that is a damn fool. I cried before he even took the oath.
ReplyDeleteYou read and you're taught about the things that were done to your people while they tried to improve things for our race. Are we all of a sudden equal and all the racism is gone? Hell no. However comma, having Obama as president is like IN YO FACE WHITEY, IN YO FACE!
That I can feel, revenge is best served cold. Getting a Black man to be president is a small delicious piece of that revenge. But that about does it for me...
